Weird light spotted inside abandoned New Orleans hospital
Creepy!
Over the holidays, a nurse at a hospital adjacent to the abandoned Charity Hospital in New Orleans spotted a strange light. She snapped a picture and uploaded it to Facebook with the title "This abandoned hospital had a visitor last night…"
In the picture, a bright light can clearly be seen shining from an empty window. Unusual, certainly, for a building that has been closed since Hurricane Katrina destroyed it in 2005.
However, things are not quite as eerie as they seem. The tree was the work of a self-proclaimed "urban explorer" (the city is more likely to call this person "guilty of breaking and entering") who wanted to draw attention to the fact that the city is still footing the electric bill for this building which has been sitting empty for over a decade.
The city defensively explained that they have left the power on in order to help lure in a buyer, and that turning off the power would only hasten the building's demise. Which, considering its decrepit appearance, seems to be already here anyway.
